Bebe was founded as a San Francisco
boutique in 1975 by Manny Mashouf. Mashouf chose women
eighteen to thirty-five as his target market. He developed a
line that appealed to stylish women with a strong sense of sex
appeal. The glamorous ad campaign enhanced this sensual image. Bebe
also made itself known to the public through a line of clothing with
the Bebe logo prominently displayed on it. Bebe includes
numerous celebrities on its client list and has been worn in many
hit television shows. Today Bebe is more popular than ever and
operates 227 stores. |
