Nine West was founded in 1978.  The company name was developed from its original street address of 9 West 57^th Street, New York City.  In 1999 Jones Apparel Group, Inc. purchased Nine West.  Jones Apparel Group, Inc. was founded in 1970 by Sidney Kimmel.  Jones Apparel Group, Inc. is constantly growing by acquiring newer companies, such as Anne Klein, Easy Spirit and Gloria Vanderbilt.

Today Nine West can be found in 60 countries. What began as a shoe company expanded to include clothing, eyewear and accessories. Nine West’s products are consistently stylish and wearable, stemming from the latest runway designs.
