Prada began in
1913 with two Milan boutiques. Mario Prada designed elegantly
simple leather accessories. In 1978, Mario’s granddaughter Miuccia
Prada took over the Prada label. Although Miuccia did not have any
background in the industry, she did have an uncanny fashion sense.
She greatly expanded Prada and began their venture into the world of
haute couture. The signature Prada look of sexy, style and luxury
without revealing too much skin became synonymous with success. The
silver Prada triangle is a sign of status throughout the western
world. |
