Computer Lenses

The computer lens is a multifocal lens with a comforting reading range of about 16” to 20” inches, computer range from 22” to 26” inches and progressing to a short distance-range of about 15’ to 20’ feet. There are no segment lines on these lenses, but unlike the progressive lens these lenses have virtually no peripheral distortion with a wide corridor (intermediate lens area), hence perfect for computer use.

The computer lens is considered an occupational lens because it is tailored for shorter ranges and is not intended as an all purpose lens like its predecessor the progressive lens. Below you will find pros and cons of the computer lens. You will also find the anatomy of the lens along with some manufactures and notable lenses.
